"Part 1"
|
This board presents us the nails, which were discovered inside the walls of old buildings (17th-19th cent). These are the mansions of Novgorod-Seversky, Glukhov, Putivl', Sumy (cities in the North-East of Ukraine). Moreover, some of the collectibles were found in such places of historical interest as the Spaso-Preobrazhensky and Molchansky monasteries, and in some churches of Glukhov, the former capital of the left-bank Ukraine.
The other part of the board consists of the nails, which belong to the buildings of Starocherkassk, the first capital of the Don Cossacks. Most of them were found near the Army Cathedral of Resurrection (the only stone building in Russia, erected during the construction of St.Petersburg), while the others were taken from the ruined houses of the elders and the atamans (warlords of the Cossack) and on the post station in Aksay. The last was taken from Novocherkassk, the new capital of the Don Cossacks.
